Afrihost: 100GB for R1 special

Post by Stuart »

MyBB wrote:Afrihost is offering consumers a wide range of ADSL packages – including its 100GB data bundle – at R1 for July and August 2011.

Afrihost surprised the local ADSL market last week when it slashed prepaid ADSL prices to R15 per GB. They have now followed this offering with an even more aggressive promotion.

Consumers can try any of Afrihost’s standard ADSL packages – including the company’s uncapped services and capped ADSL data bundles – for only R1 for July and August 2011.

That means that the total monthly cost for the ADSL package for the next two months will be a mere 50c, with no obligation to continue using the service.

“Clients can try any of our ADSL packages (both Capped and Uncapped) and they’ll only pay R1.00 for the package they choose. They will get the full service and package until the end of August,” Afrihost CEO Gian Visser confirmed.

“If they enjoy their Afrihost experience then they can start paying the normal monthly price from the beginning of September. If they are not happy for any reason at all they can easily cancel online before the 24th of August and never pay us another cent more than that first R1.00,” said Visser.

Afrihost Sales Director Greg Payne pointed out that this offer does not apply to prepaid ADSL, nor on ADSL data bundles of higher than 100GB, but that all their other ADSL packages are included.

Visser warned that they only have a limited amount of bandwidth available for this promotion, which translates into a limited number of promotional packages.

“We have budgeted a certain amount of our marketing budget to subsidise these R1 signups so we do have a limited number available – If someone goes to our site and the offer is not available anymore then that means that we are all sold out of the R1.00 packages, unfortunately,” explained Visser.

The promotion kicks off today and will remain active while stocks last.
