We have installed homefront(yes it is the original), once the installation is finished it asks you to update now that would not be a problem if the update was 10mb but it is massive........5gb
How do you bypass this update process??
Homefront
Re: Homefront
You don't.
Afaik, the game wont run without an i-net connection, and when you provide the connection, it gets instructed to update itself.
edit - spell and grams

Re: Homefront
surly there must be a way around that, I do not feel like letting a game use up my whole cap.

Take your PC or console to a friends house who has fast uncapped ADSL and let it download there, or start the download before you go to bed and let it run overnight.

Re: Homefront
If you have a friend who already played it you might try copying his install folder, don't know if it'll work though.

Re: Homefront
it is not me, a friend of mine bought the game and he does not want to use his whole cap .jamin_za wrote:Take your PC or console to a friends house who has fast uncapped ADSL and let it download there, or start the download before you go to bed and let it run overnight.
I will never buy a game with steam DRM
Re: Homefront
Or maybe get the already downloaded update from their website from someone and apply it. The game will then see it has been updated and he can play.
My ISP has this "open time" windows between 1am and 6am for me to download as much as I can (line speed dependant obviously) without it eating my cap, so if I need to download something, I can do it then.
