You can have a look at rampage gaming as well. I got extremely good service there. Order my HD5970 and CPU and Motherboard from them on the Friday morning and collected it on the Sunday on my way past. My box was delivered in 3 days.

What are the differences between these 2 cards? I don't see a difference but their prices differ.

Re: sticky pc
Hmm. It's unfortunate that they don't post a picture on RG. I'm not sure if there's a version of that card with a heatsink instead of a fan. It's unlikely though. It's possible that RG simply has a better deal.
I've never bought at RG (and thus haven't experienced their service yet), but I prefer to pay more at Prophecy and get decent service. Order today and you'll have it in two days. Prophecy has never taken longer than 3 days to process my orders, but 9/10 times it takes only two days.

Well, your CPU, RAM and OS are fine but your GPU is well lets be honest rubbish. I saw somewhere that you said you were running a 2007 version of your drivers, go to nvidia's website and download the latest one(270 I think) that should boost your performance quite a bit. But if I was you I would just go and get a better card something like a GTS450 or GTX460 both can run all those games in maximum settings at smooth frame rates.Cyberduke wrote:When I try to run the following games my pc runs sticky: OF dragon rising, Tom Clancy's rainbow six vegas 2 , racedriver Grid, battlefield bad company 2 and prototype. My pc's specs are:
Nvidia geforce 8400gs 512mb
Q6600
2,5 Gb RAM
Windows xp 32bit
As you can see my pc meets the minimum specs required to run the games and in some cases even the recommended specs (according to the website canyourunit.com)please any help appreciated.

Wat van die Geforce GTS 450? Is maar net n R100.00 meer as die GT240.
http://www.prophecy.co.za/innovision-nv ... 90636.html
Hier is n vergelyking van die twee kaarte.
http://www.hwcompare.com/7762/geforce-g ... s-450-1gb/

Van my ouer games soos bv. Tm Nations, age of empires 2, WA en daai tipes speel ek vol graphics. Dit is vir my baja beter.
I have updated my driver today (I used Driver Magician that is one awesome little driver program. It makes things soooooo much easier. ) and I am running version 207.61 But I haven't checked my games yet. I will do that tomorrow. I have got a huge psychical science test to study for tomorrow. O and the gts 450 looks awsome................... Just 1 question can I run on gtx450 a mobo that doesn't support sli?

Re: sticky pc
Ok, ek sien.

Re: sticky pc
Of course, just make sure that your PSU can supply it with enough power as it needs its own 6 pin power cableCyberduke wrote:O and the gts 450 looks awsome................... Just 1 question can I run on gtx450 a mobo that doesn't support sli?
Re: sticky pc
Like The_Stig said it all depends on your PSU. I honestly can't see your current system needing anything more than a 350W PSU, worst case maybe 400W.
Just run your PC specs through one of those PSU calculators (there is a post somewhere on this site with a link).
At worst if you don't have the 6 pin power cable, you will have to use the converter cable that normally comes with the card, if I'm not mistaken it's two 4 pin molex plugs to one 6 pin plug, or something like that.

Re: sticky pc
You can run the GT240 on a 400W psu with no problems.

Re: sticky pc
My psu will be able to run it. I have A 450W psu And the psu calculator said that I am using 229W. With the gts450 I will be using 273W.
Luckily No problem there.

Re: sticky pc
I'm not entirely sure if a 450W will run a GTS450. You need to double check this.

Re: sticky pc
I'm very confident that his PSU will be able to handle it. With my SB setup and GTX460 I'm using just under 400W at the moment.

It looks like the GTS450 uses approx. 150W in idle and approx. 250W under load. Just see if you can't find any reviews on the Asus one specifically.

Re: sticky pc
250W under load? Add to that a CPU under load, couple of hard drives, motherboard...
I know the GT240 requires 400W (of course they try and factor in the power requirements of the other components as well when they say 400W), so I am a bit skeptical about the GTS450.

I have a 450Watt PSU and a GTS450, it runs just fine even though my case has lots of blue fans and ccfls....Bladerunner wrote:I'm not entirely sure if a 450W will run a GTS450. You need to double check this.
So don't worry it will work just fine, now go and get one
