Crysis 2 for PC leaks

Post by Drakonis »

Lame
Electronic Arts and Crytek reported last Friday that an incomplete build of Crysis 2’s PC version has showed up on torrent websites. According to some reports the leaked build has multiplayer functionality, which isn’t surprising considering that it is supposed to be a late build. The news does get worse however.

According to reports the PC version that has leaked is almost (but not quite) complete. So, not an Xbox port.

How does stuff like this happen?

Is it someone on the inside who just gives his bread and butter away?

Do they keep the files on a unsecured network?

Did the aliens do it?

The only way to let it leak is if it is someone from the inside. Imo it's planned to release a alpha version and then say it isnt complete to get everyone thats interested in the game to have a sneak peak and then buy it on release date.

Hogwash.

Read Kevin Mitnick's book, The Art of Intrusion. It contains the story of a hacker who broke into a software company's servers and leaked the application and its source code. It was a complex process though.

It was probably leaked from inside.
