The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Post by NealeDeadlyAlien »

According to a new report from Eurogamer Denmark, Bethesda Softworks is currently developing a fifth title in the Elder Scrolls series and that the game will be a direct sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, released in 2006

An unnamed source confirmed "with official game documents in hand" that a new title is indeed coming and the voice acting for the characters is being recording in the coming weeks.

When asked for comment on the report, a Bethesda spokesperson said the company does not comment on rumor or speculation.

In an interview with IGN at Quakecon in August, Bethesda Game Director Todd Howard confirmed the developer's new, and still unannounced, title would not be using id Software's Rage engine, id Tech 5. Instead, Bethesda has created an entirely new game engine.

Bethesda also recently filed a trademark for an Oblivion movie.

Oh oh oh ooooh <drool> I have so been hoping they would make a sequel. I am nearly done with every side mission in the game (only three I know I cannot complete due to my own stupidity). I am so excited now - really cannot wait!

:D It took me over a year to finish, each and every quest in that game.

Something tells me I should create a new game. :P

i hope they've learned the lesson and adopted the same approach they had in morrowind... for all its snazzy graphics, oblivion wasn't anywhere near as much fun for me... (except for the lack of cliff racers... those were just maddening...) - probably because the story in morrowind was a little more fleshed out :/

i will admit that the first time a golem hit me with a rock the size of a house was quite funny... and the painting quest in shivering isles was interesting...

Oh yes - what fond memories  Must admit - that was the first game to capture me so completely. Yes I love Dead Space etc but there was just something about Oblivion that really hooked me. Hope the new one will do that. Must admit - never played Morrowind

I didn't stray too far from the main story arch, not my style, but I'm thinking of replaying - so many Oblivion addicts, makes me wonder what I missed! :o

My friend is going to be over the moon when he hears about this.

OOhh the green ones made out of glass. It is fantastic that a glass sword can be so epic compared to the rest.

I am definitely going to play it when I get home. Perhaps I will start over and do it all over again. Actually - being a vampire wasn't so bad after you find a few locals to snack on :D

Tribble hang around as a vampire. Takes much longer to go around and complete the quests. Makes it last longer.

I was one for months - and you are much stronger and can carry more. But then you don't develop your magic so there are quests you cannot complete. So eventually you have to become human again.

My first run through sits at 170+ hours. I started my 2nd one a couple of months back with some nice mods.

Have a high damage katana which I enchanted, gives fire and shock damage with a high health drain. The strong health drain is very usefull when you are in a spot of trouble.

Dont think she plays any games herself, especially not the oblivion type game, maybe Sims at best :)

No really though, my brother still plays oblivion to this day, his saves are ridiculous, they could probably be Guinness World Records.... something crazy like 300+ hours on oblivion, not exactly sure I'll get the stats from him later, he's incredibly proud of them lol

He's not a gamer either, he only really plays oblivion
