Re: Old Skin
Removed as of last night's (this morning's?) update. Sadly, it's not worth the time and effort to keep it updated if only 7 people were using it.

Sad indeed.
So who other than WiK1d and myself were using it?

Re: Old Skin
So I've tried the 'new' skin and I just don't seem to be able to get used to it.
Is there anyway of 'skinning' phpBB from the client side? Where my Firefox session is the client?

With a lot of effort, I suppose it is possible. But I doubt it's worth the effort.doo_much wrote:

@doo_much: you could always paint your screen...
i have to ask... what, exactly, is wrong with the new skin?... i've been using it since inception and have felt no urgent desire to downgrade...

Re: Old Skin
Found a Greasemonkey script that does some stuff with the default prosilver theme of phpBB 3 forums.
Which doesn't do anything for me atm but I have hope!

Re: Old Skin
Yes that's what I was thinking. A script/extension in Firefox that could just change the css & images client-side to prosilver. Won't be perfect, but it'll do. (Could actually be a nice project)

Re: Old Skin
On that note, I do intend redoing the current style, basing it on the prosilver codebase instead of the (now ancient and venerable) subsilver2 codebase. My reason is that subsilver2 will be dropped from future phpBB versions, which would make my life very difficult when it comes to applying updates to a subsilver2-based style (i.e. this one).Bladerunner wrote:Yes that's what I was thinking. It's just a matter of finding the time to do that - which unfortunately is in rather short supply right now.

Re: Old Skin
Yup I'm also struggling with the new one. Things just aren't where they used to be. Small changes like these really irk me.

I mean, make it look like the old style and bring the sidebar back...
But on a serious note - I'm not complaining about the current style. Just my inability to get used to it.

I loved phpBB2 with what I think was called the phpBBNuke mod. I still miss the sidebar with the latest post titles.doo_much wrote: I mean, make it look like the old style and bring the sidebar back...
