But.. what does it mean? I mean, what's the difference between capacitative and resistive in usability terms?

Capacitive screens are far more responsive to finger input that resistive could ever hope to be.

Yowza, spot the guy who's never had a touchscreen phone Just kiddingGreyWolf wrote:But.. what does it mean? I mean, what's the difference between capacitative and resistive in usability terms?
Resistive screens need far more pressure from you to register a "click". You actually have to give it a good press. On a capacitive screen, you barely have to touch the screen for it to register The difference is absolutely amazing. My last phone had a resistive screen, and my current phone has a capacitive screen. Whenever I use my old phone, it feels like it's broken for the first minute because it's not responding to my light taps
That guy that used to mod cases. Now I take photos. True story.
Re: New capacitive screen capable of accepting stylus input
Yup, I don't think I'd ever be able to use a resistive screen again. Played around with a friends N97 the other day and almost went batty...

I know that feeling. Every time I touch my old nokia I just want to throw the thing against the wall. It is like... press.....press.....press....what the hell is wrong with this damn thing....press....whip out stylus...press....oh damn it accepted the press at the wrong coordinates....noooooooooooooooooDAE_JA_VOO wrote:Yowza, spot the guy who's never had a touchscreen phone Just kiddingGreyWolf wrote:But.. what does it mean?
