network connection drops

Post by Kennyisalive »

Hi guys..

I have 3 XP pc in the office where the network connection just drops.. 1 is a desktop and 2 notebooks.. Every thing seems connected but but there is no Internet or Lan Access.. When you Release/renew or reboot or what ever evry thing is fine again for a day or so..

For the last 2 days. 1 of the laptops drops every 5 min. I have tried numerous things. to fix this but it keeps on happening..

Please help!!

I have tried

To turn off network speed auto-detection:

Select Network Settings, either from your Start menu or from within Control Panel.
Right click on the connection that corresponds to your network card, and select Properties.
In the dialog that results, click on the Configure... button immediately below the "Connect using..." item that shows your network card.
In the dialog that results, click on the Advanced tab.

Also tried Switching to wireless.. Problem persists
also Tried taking the PC of the Domain and and deleting its PTR record from the Domain host server..

Make sure Windows does not allow the device to go into power saving mode (which turns the device off)?

I think.. it is a domain ? (thats why rusty so plainly refers to time settings)
Sometimes various authentication/directory services require the time to be in sync with the authentication server.
If there is too much of a time discrepancy, then you can't login.
