Goes on for another 3 pages, has some great pictures of what has been done in the game.Dear Harry and Paul,
I'm in Minecraft! I know you don't really like it and that's why you didn't want to join me on this holiday, but it's just so amazing that I've got to rub it in your faces a little bit - this place is beautiful! I've attached some of my holiday snaps for you guys in the office to have a look at. I just wish I'd borrowed a camera off of one of you, instead of relying on my knackered old Polaroid.
Paul, I'm relying on you to make sure Harry at least looks at the photos, by the way. He's always going on about how he 'doesn't understand why smashing blocks is fun', so I'm hoping these photos will change his mind.

I have to agree with the second one...Dear Joe
Thanks for your kind letter the other month, it was very nice of you to think of me and Harry while away on your Minecraft excursion. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to turn down your offer to join you however.
I don't mean to appear rude by turning down your offer, but believe me when I say I'd rather stab rusty forks into my own eyeballs than toil away away in an imaginary world, building nothing of any value, consequence or benefit.
Please, go back to your ridiculously low resolution world, build yourself an awkward, blocky looking imitation of a cliff, and jump off it.
Sincerely,
P.S.

Re: Minecraft.
BETA!
* Working server-side inventory! Finally! (And as a result of that, a whole pile of bugs and issues got fixed)
* Made SMP servers save chunks way less often in most cases. Chunks don’t resave if they got saved in the last 30 seconds
* Moving too far away from a container, or having it blow up, closes the inventory screen
* Fixed /kill
* Introduced leaf decay again. It acts differently from before
* You can now throw eggs
* On a whim, added super exclusive clan cloaks for Mojang Employees
* .. and something else, which is even more rare

Yeah, if Mweb weren't such a bunch of useless male chickens I'd be palying right now.
For some reason, any MWeb connection is physically unable to download a working version of the game. I've been waiting 3 goddam weeks and I still can't play.
I think I'm going to get MWeb to refund me the amount I paid for Minecraft.

If that's the case, I had that same problem. I managed to get it working though. Drop me an email or a tweet or something and I'll help you out. Don't post it here or PM, I'm travelling at the moment, so I'll hardly ever be on PCF

on the depressing side, notch and co are wasting man hours and valuable dev time on adding inane achievements to the game... seriously...

Not sure if you guys saw this, but notch just announced that Minecraft's release date is November 11th. He doesn't sound too confident about actually making that deadline, but it's a deadline nonetheless.

Re: Minecraft.
you need to pay or something... as a registered user you can play the free version in a browser and have your game/stats saved - but the free version is outdated with no updates planned...

Re: Minecraft.
It's quite hard finding wolves. I played for about two hours just walking around (and mining/building of course) looking for one. Then when i got out of one of my mines, I ran right into one, was startled and killed it by accident. Back to square 1 again...

You know you are a nerd when you replicate your house in Minecraft. I like how explains the differences between his real world house compared to in-game version, like we'd think he had a glass ceiling and a couch made of blocks

Re: Minecraft.
1.6b released!, (technically 1.6.2b)...
- + Added Nether support to multiplayer
+ The client will ask minecraft.net if the current login is valid. If the server says “no”, a warning message appears in the client. You can still play the game even if this happens.
+ Added craftable maps
+ Added hatches
+ Added tall grass in some biomes
+ Mushrooms now spreads (very) slowly
+ Added server property view-distance. Sets the radius of terrain updates (in chunks) to send to the players. Range 3-15, default 10.
+ Added dead shrubs in deserts
+ Added allow-nether (set to true or false) in server.properties
+ Blocks destroyed by other players in multiplayer now shows the breaking block particle effect
+ Doors make sound for other players in multiplayer
+ The record player now supports more than 15 different songs (you can’t get the records yet, though)
+ Activated dispensers make sounds and trigger particles in multiplayer
+ Players stuck in walls will slide towards the nearest gap if there is one
Changes:
* Disabled Advanced OpenGL until we can fix some bugs with it
* It’s no longer possible to build solid blocks on the top layer of the maps (sorry!)
* Made booster tracks speedier
* Severely nerfed fire so it spread slower, and doesn’t spread infinitely
* Seeds are now found in tall grass, using a hoe on the ground no longer works
* Compressed network traffic more agressively
* Blocks that don’t change appearance when the data changes don’t send block updates when their data changes now
* Arrows shot by players can now be picked up by all players
* Nothing riding anything or being ridden by anything can enter portals
