A woman in the UK, who has not been identified, has been charged and jailed for child cruelty and animal neglect after she apparently became hooked on a Facebook game. The woman had been neglecting her children and pets for a considerable time in favour of the Facebook title. By the time police were notified and arrived at her home her dogs had already been decomposing in her living room for two months

But that is insane. Didn't she work and have a job to go to? Did no one see the kids and animals being mistreated? No game is that addictive (and I should know) - hers was a mental problem.

the more addictive a game is the more irritating the ting trying to get your attention away from it is, the faster you will see to the irritating thing needing your attention.

Yep - she was unbalanced. And anyone who has kids knows that you cannot ignore them when you want to play - they just won't quit until you pay attention to them.

her kids need some disciplinary intervention... at their age, household chores like feeding the pets/ doing the dishes/gardening was pretty standard for us... letting the animals starve to death just screams dysfunctional family all over the place...

perhaps a starvation diet might help to focus them....

Agreed Rusty - take them out of society before they can breed further. My kids are roughly those ages and feed the pets on their own and can feed themselves if necessary. They even know how to go to the shops and buy things to eat. There is a serious problem with these people.

How the hell do you ignore the smell of decomposing corpses?

At one time I had a mouse died in my house a couple of weeks after I put some rattex out. I searched everywhere until I found that the offending smell was coming from within my couch. I opened the bottom of the couch to get it out.

Agree with Rusty, at the very least the 13y old should have had the sense to intervene in some way, even if it is to run to the neighbor or phoning somebody or using the school support system.
