Okay, I saw your FB status about this the other day, but seeing it now I have to ask, WTH did the guy do to it to wreck the screen like that?

He dropped it. The glass on these phones shatters pretty heavily when it breaks :)

You should actually use one, then you'll really not want one. I used this one for a few hours after I fixed it and I was just reminded of how inferior iOS is to Android :(

I've used our pastor's on a number of occasions. Never liked it. He and I have a bit of a running BB v. iPhone thing here in the office.

Hahahah, that's awesome. There's a serious BB movement at my church, but my Android phone is causing problems in that ecosystem :P

I can only imagine how many times you are going to be fixing it for him if it shatters that easily.
At least the BB can be dropped without much damage.

Ja, we've had a sudden influx of BBs since I got mine too. I'm suddenly BB Support Central in Brackenhurst.

We have two iPhones in the mix. No Android phones that I'm aware of. A few Winmo phones, I'm embarrassed to admit.

it seems that every Tom, willy, Harry and Sally is going out and getting a BB. Ever watched a normal person try setup a BB or navigate its settings menu? They remind me of goldfish... goldfish however don't ask me to help solve their problems.

Yeah I much prefer the Android OS, but I sometimes miss the iPhone build quality. It's still much better than any of the current Android phones... iPhone 4 is teh sexyness! :P

Ye I wanted to say that you didn't really fix it. It is still an iPhone.

Based on conversations in the smart phone and Android threads, I'd venture to say HTC Hero right now. Unless something better has come along in the meantime. DAE or Ryan will have the latest gossip.

No, Hero is probably the one phone you should be avoiding right now. It's a great phone, but I'm fairly certain that it's STILL on Android 1.6 here in SA, so you'll be getting an OLD OS. In SA, at the moment, the HTC Desire or the Samsung Galaxy S are the phones you should be going for.

Also, it's got a 580Mhz CPU, so it's on the slower side of Android phones.

Yeah, I think the Desire is more open in terms of loading custom ROM's and such, but the Galaxy S is probably the best Android phone available locally at the moment. Very powerful and good quality phone.
