Dropping connection to ISA server

Post by Ryan_Cooper »

Hi guys ...

I have this problem with one of my user's laptops on the network.
the problem is as follows:
the user when logged on to the network in the office he will have internet connection via the ISA server just like the other 200 odd users and then all of a sudden he's connection to the internet drops ...only his connection not any of the other users, yet he can still access the complete network just his internet is not working. we have checked his connection and it's fine, we have checked and re-installed the network drivers on his laptop. I have installed the ISA client on his laptop and that seemed to work but after a while even the ISA client couldn't establish a connection to the ISA server. on some occasions he gets an error message from the ISA server saying that his connection limit has been released and when i do a netstat on his laptop it shows that every single port from port 1000 to 5000 is listening for incoming connections, no virus has been found and no spyware has been found as I have run scans using various Anti virus & anti-spyware software with their latest updates, we cant seem to figure out what is causing this problem.

any help would be really appreciated...thanks guys

Try running TCPView on the system - this will run and tell you what Application is using those ports.
Also Download and run Trend Micro HijackThis - and post logs here ?

it seems that the open ports are irrelevant as IT WAS USED BY Nokia Ovi Suite, I highly suspect it to be the cause of the other problems as well, will let you know the outcome

Yep. It was the Nokia Ovi suite 2.0.2 that was causing all the problems for the user.
I un-installed and his problems went away and installing the latest version of OVi Suite seems not to be causing a problem
