Blue screen in Windows 7 after HD 5750 driver uninstall

Post by Shizzler »

Hi!

I've unistalled my Force3D HD 5750 drivers, to install newer drivers. The thing is after I unistalled and rebooted into windows, the PC pops out a blue screen with lots of white words and restarts.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.

ANY HELP PLEASE?????????

Boot from your disk and choose a restore point? What happens when you press F8 and boots into safe mode?

It boots fine into safe mode, but I can't get it to boot and stay on in normal mode! I don't want to format cause I just installed BFBC2 and it took forever to update and I don't know how to backup the updates!

Excuse my ignorance but it sounds like your graphics card needs decent drivers since you've uninstalled the old ones?

Newer drivers? From ATI or Force3D? Is it 32 bit drivers or did you accidentally install 64 bit drivers?

Well at first when I got the card I installed the drivers from the disc I got with the card. Furthermore I did nothing , now I 've restored the computer to an earlier time and it works again, except when I try to open the Catalyst Control Panel it doesn't open.

As soon as I uninstall the drivers and reboot it goes into windows for a few seconds, pops out the blue screen and restarts.

I'm not sure if it might have something to do with the screen as it also has it's own drivers, apps etc. It's a Samsung B2430 24" LCD. I also have it connected through the HDMI port.

Another thing I did after uninstalling the drivers I boot into safe mode and used Driver Sweeper to clean the ATI Display leftovers.

It's very weird...Never happened to me before.

Why not just install the new drivers over the old ones? Did you download them from Ati?

Do you uninstall via the control panel?

Try running the Catalyst installer with the Force3D drivers installed, then let it continue as normal. I see Kalster beat me to it

Maybe your standard Win7 drivers is broken and crashes or your card has a tweaked bios (by Force3D) that might cause instability issues with Win's standard driver.

Yeah, downloaded the new drivers from ATI/AMD!

I did uninstall from the catalyst thing, not from the control panel. Think I'll just have to format!

Thanks guys

I just install the new ones over the old ones and have not had any issues. Maybe try that first before the format?

Yep. This has worked for me with both X86 and X64 versions of Win7. I also have a Force3D GFX card.
