EA defends Online Pass/Ten Dollar again

Is this an issue in S.A?
EA Sports’ Peter Moore has come out in defence of the Online Pass system that EA Games have been implementing and will continue to implement in upcoming titles, saying that gamers appreciate the need for Project Ten Dollar. The initiative, in case you don’t know, is designed to make original purchases of games more attractive than second hand sales; which are big business overseas

I don't see what the problem is. This hardly discourages second hand games. If anything, it encourages people to buy second hand titles they would otherwise avoid because of limited or locked features.
