Win 7 and Xbox

I have just connected my Xbox to my network.

I have a PC running win7 home premium, running through a thompson Router.

I cannot get the PC to setup the Extender. The extender is visible to the PC through the normal explorer page.

I have checked that the Firewall allows media centre extenders on the private network, i have even diable all firewall settings on both my touter and pc, but to no avail

any help greatly appreciated as always.

How do i set a work group on the Xbox ?

I just plugged it all in an followed the instructions on both the xbox and the pc.

Mclaren is also have the xbox on WIN 7 but i am unable to connect them. Got a switch and the straight cables but still does not want to work.

Its frustrating, they should be plug n play.

It has something to do with the settings as the PC shows the xbox in explorer. none of the websites i have read help. i am not a fundi on networking and most of the laungaue used to explain what to do is gobly gook to me.
