Usb flash drive corrupt

I'm new here so please can bear with me
My Usb flash drive (Kingston 4gb) started showing files i didnt know so i did a viurs scan with avast and got a report that some files could be scanned because there are no values or something so I opened it aqain and all my information where not there just folder with different name i didnt know. So I want to know how can i retrieve my information,when i try to open the usb i get this response please insert a disk into drive and properties say i have zero free space and zero used space.what is the best software for retrieving information from a corrupt usb flash drive and were in bloemfotein can i take it to fix it.

depending on the drives age and how much it has been used it might have reached its end of life.
What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.

Hehe sounds like the viruses from the University computers... Am I right?

Right click on your drive --> Open with... --> C:\Windows\Explorer.exe
