CPU Temperature monitoring software

Post by GregH »

I have finally received my new CPU cooler today - a Thermaltake Ultra 120 eXtreme 1366 air cooler for the i7. It installed easily enough (if taking the entire mobo out is considered easy :? ) and now I want to load software that will give a reliable report in Windows on the CPU core temps. I currently have HWMonitor but it shows temps fluctuate on individual cores by 7-8 degrees up and down in a matter of seconds - something I very much doubt is the case. For example, on a particular core, it can jump from say, 42C up to 51C and back down to 41C in the space of 2-3 seconds. All 4 cores show this.

What is everyone else using? This system is Win 7 64bit.
