Private number unblocking

Post by ChuckNorris »

Hi Guys,

Anyone know of a way to find out the number of a private/unknown number? I'm with Vodacom and am getting
inundated with "unknown" number miss calls and calls at all friggin times of the day and night
(especially after midnight)!!! I'm using a Sony Ericsson X1 Xperia (Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro) if that makes any diff.

Not possible from the user end. You have to file a police report for harassment and they subpoena the phone companies

Thanks man, hell, I was hoping for an easier way.

On another note, a friend of mine has had her bf monitoring all her calls somehow, how is that possible? He had her SIM for a day.

Hmmm interesting, but I though that if you tried to get the same number on two SIM cards then the old one would cease to work? He's monitoring on PC as well so I guess he's getting his PC to filter/screen the calls?

What the heck?! Why is he doing that?

Man, it makes me sick that some guys are so jealous and possessive.
That guy that used to mod cases. Now I take photos. True story.

You can say that again Dae_Ja!

She asks me about it since i'm the IT guy but I ain't heard of anyone doing something like that! I mean, what kinda software is he using. It cant be that hard cause he ain't the sharpest tool in the shed.

He even can resolve private numbers. Jeez, I need that, this private number person is driving me up the wall!!!!

come to think of it no. you do have a point.

i feel it is pretty crappy that you cant resolve a private number without the cops etc but its so easy to hide you number.

I don't know of any program to do it on a phone, but on VOIP calls I can see the incoming ANI even if it is private. In my opinion it should be possible to see the incoming Callerid on a cellphone too, because the ANI is being send. You just need to read the ANI and set the Callerid as the ANI.

Sure - just get a developer to write you a little app for that in Android :D

I have the same problem. I am a fairly new Vodacom costumer, got the contract in November last year. Calls at random times from an unknown number and when I pick up, it's quiet on the other end. It's driving me mad! Think it might be a problem on their side.
