I'm finding it very similar. They've removed the Office Button and replaced it with a more conventional 'File' option again.

Tribs, if you want a copy, PM me and i'll post you a CD.

My work mate downloaded it but Iḿ not falling over myself to install it at my home PC.
Im using Fedora 12 at the moment and using google apps means I have no need for excel or word or anything.

I hope itś a combination of 2007 and 2003 as both had good and bad sides.
Mostly 2007 was pretty but frustrating for regular users and 2003 was very functional but getting old.

For about a week, perhaps. Once you get used to the new menu system it's far simpler than 2003.

yeah Ive learnt to use it but importing from a scanner is painful and thats just 1 of the things that 2003 did better.

Certainly the shiny factor goes waaaay up with every release

As a person who point-blank refuses to use 2007 (I'm still very happy with 2003), how will this new version pan out for me :?:

If you point blank refuse to use 2007, why would you even consider using 2010?

DarkStar, it is superior to the previous versions (>= 2003) My feeling is that it is indeed worth the change.

I don't like the new Outlook Look. some of the icons suck.

Do like the file buttons re-appearance though.

Looks a bit kiddy like to me.

Any thoughts on the new Office?
I'm starting to get used to it. Not much of a jump from 2007 though.
Still not sure of the colour schemes in Outlook but MS may tweak that for the release version in a few weeks/months?

At work it seems to have integrated fine with all the other office versions galavanting about our department. One glitch I've noticed is that it struggles to connect to a network printer the first time you run it after a PC restart. Takes 1 or 2 minutes to connect and yet with Office 2003/2007 it connects immediately. Other than that nothing really to report.

One slight irritation I have is if you hit Ctrl + P in 2007 you can just hit enter to start printing. When you do it in 2010, however, the settings for selecting which pages to print is highlighted so when you hit enter it opens settings rather than printing. I also preferred the ribbon in 2007 to the File menu on 2010.
