Until my faulty work machine is replaced, I am stuck with a Windows 98 machine
. I needed to share a folder last week,
but that option was not available when I right clicked the folder, nor did anything come up under folder properties.
File and printer sharing is enabled under Networking in the Control Panel.
Do any of you know what I cannot share files and how I might fix this?
Thank you

Right click folder, go properties, go security?
Are you on an admin account?
Do you have in networking the Microsoft Shared Folders/Printers thingy installed?

No "Security" properties page is available.Sojourn wrote:Right click folder, go properties, go security?

Admin account? I did not know that such a thing existed for Windows 98.
How would I find out if it is one of those?
Yes, I have the File and Printer Sharing Service installed.

sorry dude, I am sucking my thumb here with no w98 OS in front of me.
Try messing around in the control panel.
Alternatively, if you cannot push data, try pulling it.
