IPSec vs PPTP help please

Hi guys

Firstly which is the recommenced way to connect to a remote SBS2008 server, PPTP or IPSec?

This is the problem I'm trying to deal with:

Man and Wife want to connect to mapped drives/exchange on SBS2008 server sitting at the office. Both home and office are on ADSL.

I have setup IPSec networks before without a hitch on a standard workgroup type network. This is the first time I've done it with a DC controller involved and when they try connect to mapped drives it asks for authentication and Outlook doesn't sync to the exchange at all.

The PPTP connection works fine, but I can only have one connection to the server at one time. Can they both connect at the same time with PPTP?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
