PCF Sept 09 cover disc

Post by marduke »

Anyone notice that the Kubuntu ISO on the cover disc's size is 0 bytes???? big oops PCF, here's hoping that you guys include it on next months disc again. Oh & I'm still waiting for my replacement disc of last month, you know, the scratched one I phoned about, was told a new one would be sent & I haven't received yet?

Couldn't you have posted this here?

And maybe a PM to Nab about your disc? You do realise that PCF cannot inspect every disk coming off cdt's press to check for scratches?

Have you tried to mount or burn the iso yet?

@Jonboy - No, that thread is about the mag, this thread is about the cover disc specifically, I saw that for previous months, the same has been done, I assumed that it would be acceptable to do it again for this month. Also I did PM one of the staff members, but they weren't of much help. I did manage to get the disc working, I'm not a complete twit. I just felt like ranting since I don't feel that it was good customer service to tell me they're sending me a new disc & then not send it. Also being in customer service myself, if they really wanted to wow me & go the extra mile, the staff member I PM'd could have contacted the subscriptions department to follow up on the issue. That would have been great customer service. We also have different departments & that's exactly what I do, even if the query has absolutely nothing to do with me or my department, I go the extra mile for my customer. This is only the 1st time I've ever been personally disappointed by PCF, so I'll give them another chance, this time.

@rustypup - I think they might have sent me yours by mistake.... been having a blast with it :D

You do know that there is a postal strike at the moment? Started about a week ago.

I'm aware of that, alas my request for a replacement disc was made around the 1st of the month, so no excuse there, also postal strike or not, I've already received my sep copy of the mag, hence my 1st post asking if anybody noticed that the kubuntu iso on the dvd is 0Kb in size. So once again, no excuse, they could have attached the replacement disc to the sep copy.

True - pity you are so far away. You could have popped in and spoken to them in person.

Indeed, which is why I phoned their subs department & requested a replacement. But it's no a biggie no more, I managed to fix my scratched disc so a replacement isn't necessary. I just wanted to make my dissatisfaction known. Oh & by the way, I rebooted my laptop & now I can mount the kubuntu iso, so my bad
