PCF September 2009
'Hacker line up' makes an interesting read but "The top 5 hackers of all time".
They were all caught? Not very 'top' now are they?
How about an article on hacks where the perpetrators were never caught?
The hotwired article on making a tracking webcam? WTF?
Rather get DJV to string something together that we can actually build AND use.
Other than that? Cool mag. Like the the review on Win7: RC, and will be sure to try the optimization out.

A surprising amount of modern pseudoscience is coming out of the environmental sector. Perhaps it should not be so surprising given that environmentalism is political rather than scientific.

Re: PCF September 2009
Uhm, that is circular reasoning - how will we report on them 'if they where never caught' ?How about an article on hacks where the perpetrators were never caught?
I think the article was meant to show the EXPLOITS of these particular hackers - and the effect it had.

Anyway. Quick Google found this and this.
I wonder in how many instances the victim either never becomes aware of the intrusion or doesn't make it known for whatever reason...

VinceThePrince, Not good to hear dude, I've been considering a sub but the deliveries just seem to not be up to standard based on these threads.
Hope you get it soon.

And no rates and taxes bill.
And these tards don't care if you got the bill, they just add interest if you don't ante up before the 7th.

update to mail strike:
It appears that the agreement reached over the strike action of last week has not been welcome by all the union members.

Re: PCF September 2009
I agree that was a fairly silly article. Kevin Mitnick's (a featured hacker in PCF) book "The Art of Intrusion" contains real life stories of hackers. Their hacks are of a much higher standard, and also much more intriguing than what was in PCF.doo_much wrote:'Hacker line up' makes an interesting read but "The top 5 hackers of all time".

I must say I was disappointed in that article especially. It could have been done so much better.

Re: PCF September 2009
I'm a subscriber going on 3 years now & I've never had any delivery problems, ever. Even with the recent postal strike I received my copy on time. So I don't understand what you guys are complaining about, PCF even puts the date the mag was mailed on the packaging. If you ask me it's not PCF's fault but rather the postal service in a specific area.

To be fait, it's not really PCF's fault if the post office messes up.
