alerting one and all to having achieved a solution is like needlessly inserting a gay-midget-bowling S&M cliffhanger into a eulogy... innapropriate...

He probably deleted the recycle bin.

You get it back by going into the control panel and restoring it (can't remember the exact method, i'm posting from mobile so i can't experiment to find the method)

by deleting it, it would have to try and store itself within itself... behaviour like this could bring about the end times...

***Sigh.*** Vista allows you to remove the recycle bin from the desktop.

And i'm pretty sure if you go to the recycler settings, there is a restore to desktop option

Stuart, I thought it saved it to the CMOS battery for future use.

Yes, but Sea-Moss Batteries have a habit of resetting themselves to 2002, so you have to find a pre-2002 Recycle Bin to be sure it will work without deleting itself again.

The techie at the local computer store took the Recycle Bin, but the Sea-Moss police caught him. Now he's sitting in 2002 in a solitary jail cell in France.

It would include a backup Sea-Moss battery.
