Omnia as shared modem

Post by Mclaren »

We had a e270 modem shared between 2 pc's using XP. the mode was stolen, we are now using an omnia, but unlike the modem the omnia shares its connection via software on the modem.

When the omnia is plugged in, a new network connection shows up in my connections window on my pc.

If i try and share the connection from within xp, xp tells me there is already an existing connection using the required IP address for ics. we have deleted all software and drivers for the old e270.

This means only i can access the net and my colleuge cannot. any help anyone ?

Set your IP address as Automatic, then retry ICS. this will assign a IP address of 192.168.0.1 to the pc, once done go to the client pc and set your IP address to 192.168.0.2 subnet 255.255.255.0 and then gateway as 192.168.0.1
