Does anybody currently get kicked from Crysis 2 server while playing. I certainly do. Get kicked after a few round to log-on screen.
Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
Finally managed to finish the game today. Took me roughly 8 hours to complete on the default difficulty. Realized you could literally sneak your way through large portions of the game without the need to engage the enemy. The game played more linear and the maps felt confined and restrictive in comparison with that of Crysis and Far Cry. Your progress in the latter games also felt more continuous as opposed to Crysis 2 where you on many occasions progress during the loading screen and then start in a new environment afresh. This approach somewhat broke the continuity and free-flow of the gameplay for me. Notwithstanding, the new nanosuit and its customization options are without a doubt the star of the game!

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
Finished the single player. All I can say is finally! The game is a decent length but the problem lies in it is still too restrictive. The only area that felt like it should be in crysis was the final stage with open spaces although they didnt add multiple paths to the game. People keep speaking of a term called scripted and I felt it hard when I got run over by my own sides humvee because I was running to mount it.
Graphics, good but unreal engine can still dish it more. The loss of freedom is a heavy downer. The silent hero stuff can end please. It's not like his jaw was shot off at the start of the game. The patches that has been released has really improved the game since launch and the game is good. ...or it might be that homefront was so bad that anything qualifies as good after that.

Anyone find the AI a bit... retarded? I'm playing on the highest difficulty, but the soldiers are easy to kill. Does it get more difficult later on when fighting the aliens?

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
Bad news. They have reannounced that they will be bringing DX11 to crysis 2. Why is this a problem? First off before the game shipped it was said they are planning on patching DX11 into the game after launch. Atm they arent clear on the matter but the words "screwed" and "taken for a ride" is coming up rather badly in this.

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
Wasn't one of patches supposed to have fixed that already? What is the ETA for the DX 11?

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
So I finally got a chance to play Crysis 2.
Am I the only left with a bit of a "Meh" feeling? I mean, it looks great, gameplay is alright, etc, but there's nothing about this game that's new, or better. It just feels like a 2 year old FPS. In fact, it feels like Crysis 1 set in the city.
Man, gaming has become so disappointing. The only game to come out in the last year or two that's been really epic has been minecraft, and it was written by one guy, and it's not even finished.

That guy that used to mod cases. Now I take photos. True story.

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
I have not played it, but a friend of mine who is a big FPS fan says that he thinks there is something wrong with the collision detection in this game, especially in multi-player..

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
I'd say having a silent main character is a step backwards. I cant comment on the hit detection since I got a headshot when I shot someone else in the foot in MW2 multiplayer. I think the lack of proper servers are doing this. Maybe its time to go back to quake and unreal for our multiplayer fun.

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
I dropped the graphics from "Extreme" to "Very High". Except for some AA, I can't tell the difference and my frames are now constantly 60, instead of dropping to 40 frequently. Much smoother experience.

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
How did you customize you graphics. BTW what are you running, I run the game in 1600X900(native res) in Hardcore mode(Ie the highest settings) with a Core 2 duo E7500 and a EVGA GTS450 and it runs smooth as silkMystical_Titan wrote:I dropped the graphics from "Extreme" to "Very High". Was running it on Extreme @ 1,920 x 1,080. Looks like the SLi leaves lots to be desired...THE_STIG wrote:How did you customize you graphics. When you say "silky smooth", how many FPS do you get?THE_STIG wrote:Yea, I hope for your sake they fix it.
As far as I can tell, my second 560 almost makes no difference.

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
I have not checked but it does not spasm whenever you shoot a man in the face, not jerky at all when you move the mouse around so I guess about 40-50FPS

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
Well, for me, silky smooth only starts @ 50 and up.
