Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
Ok the patch for 1.9 is 366mb big (atleast the steam version update). The Ultra pack is 546mb big and the Hi-rez texture pack is a whopping 1.7gb big.

Will hopefully have my PC up and running again by the end of the week, then I'll be installing the updates (already downloaded them).

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
Only playing the multiplayer of crysis 2 now. Slight fps increase even with ultra setting but not really noticing any of the extra dx11 effect on mp side. Noticed a few improvements during single player but atm I am wondering if I will ever notice these graphical changes off the bat.

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
So does DX11 actually increase the average FPS over DX9?

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
Its been proven on a few benchmarks. The rundown is with dx9 features enable on both dx9 and dx11, dx11 will run everything faster due to some kind of memory programming.

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
Some performance drop under DX 11, but not much at all. I'm waiting for one or two more upgrades to arrive before I play this again. Performance numbers from Guru 3D below:

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
Finally downloaded the DX11 patch(took almost 8 hours), I am somewhat disappointed that it does not look that much better than it did before(lighting is better though) but at least there are now some proper graphics options . All I need now is the hi-res texture pack

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
I think you need both to really see a difference. I'm just waiting for my new CPU cooler before I play this again.

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
Probably but the difference between DX11 being enabled and it being disabled is tiny......the edges of the weapons and some other objects are slightly smoother but during the heat of battle you are not going to notice those things

Re: The Official Crysis 2 Thread
I have just installed the high res texture pack but the high res option is still greyed out. I had both patch 1.9 and the DX11 patch installed before I installed the high res pack, so why wont it work?
