Help creating a new menu in Joomla 1.5

I need help creating and getting a new menu in Joomla 1.5 to show. I can't get my new menu to show at all. I tried making a poll and that did not show either.

You have to click:

-Menu
-Menu Manager
-Add your info
-Save
-Menu
-<Your new menu>
-New
-Choose your type of menu item
-Add your info
-Save
-Extensions
-Module Manager
-New
-Insert info
-Select your created menu on the right
-<Change Position and Order depending on where you want it>
-Save

I now got a serious problem. My whole site has disappeared. I can't view it.

That's strange, did you mess with any of the template CSS or PHP files?
