SQL 2008 and TFS 2008 on Server 2008

Post by GrimStoner »

Hi

I installed SQL 2008 Enterprise and Team Foundation Server 2008 on Windows Server 2008 Standard.

Which ports do I need to open on my router to allow remote access to SQL? Only 1433 (SQL Server), or do I need to open 1434 (SQL Browser) and the ports for reporting and analysis services as well?

It depends on what you want visible from the outside
If you only want the db to be accessable then yes 1433 would do the trick
