Maybe 40 hours of not eating, drinking or going to the loo. I was talking about staying awake. We used to have the best fun - and none of us died or were even close to passing out.

The LAN was awesome. The power issues were not the fault of PCF or BitFarm, really. Was looking forward t the COD4 comp...anyways, as a first lan, PCF did well, well done guys!

+1 Tribble...

When I was in High School we went on a holiday during which they broke into our house and stole all of our computer equipment. I had to redo a Dev project in a week. At one point I was awake for over 58 hours straight trying to get it finished and I am still here.

The LAN rocked, was so cool to have that many people joining in the fun. It is a pity it got cut short, but was fun nonetheless.

The best part, certainly, was shooting Drakonis in the head repeatedly :D

You only got those kills because of my sleep-deprived state UrBaN... :P
Next time, try shooting me at the beginning of the LAN

Drakonis,

Actually I was at the disadvantage as I'd slept - more than I should have but not enough to ease the tiredness.

So, is that a challenge for a rematch?

Fine, I'll take the bullet on this one... figuratively speaking. :)
There will be a rematch though, I must avenge whatever passes for my honor these days

hopefully the next one has sufficient power :P

seriously though..... shouldn't we look at having a testing station for the rigs before they get plugged into the grid? i know FRAG lan does this. :)

and no im not saying someones pc caused the failure... although..... the grid was fine the whole night until that one guy came with his pc that tripped it all on our row.... coincidentally the same row the VESS occurred :|

True, we had 3 trips before the dude's PC blew, I think that was fair warning that someone needed a slap.

Anyway, I am keen for another LAN. Location doesn't phase me too much TBH.

as i said, see if meissener or apc will sponsor the loan of a big ups to run all the pc's through. Even if they send a rep with that people can get advice on buying from. :D

anyway, when is the next lan?

i'll see if i can make it to proximity but i doubt it because of varsity and my work load. :(

Hi all. Kinda been lurking on this one as I am still uber pissed/embarrassed about Sat. We are still investigating the exact cause of the power issues because they were completely bizarre. The power was certified by a sparky and the infrastructure was qualified for 150 rigs so to have things blow was a suck. General consensus points a finger at the clowns who got married at the school/the pool pump/KB's hairdryer sucking too much juice which caused a little live/neutral melting and a healthy doubling of voltage down one of the phases.

For the next event: I will be involved in the planning from the beginning so venue/power/cheerleaders will be my call next time. Regarding the when, I am hoping for June/July but will keep everyone posted.

Otherwise it was really awesome to see all of you and considering we only lost 5 hours and the CoD competition things could have been worse. Again my sincerest apologies to everyone who was inconvenienced, especially Ryan and his pops. Thanks for being such legends about the whole affair. I was so stressed I was going to have to do damage control on an event I never arranged only to discover you lot being really decent about it all

Pics will be up shortly along with the new front end...
What you see written above is my opinion and not that of the peeps that put food on my plate.
