hey everyone.
I got a amd athlon 64 3500+ skt 939 with a gigabyte nforce 4 ultra...... .....
Ive got a programme that came with the board its called Easy Tune 5.
On the programme my current Mhz reads: 2200,34. (standard)
It gives me an option to increase it to 2500 odd MHZ, which i do, but is my pc really being over clocked???
I know minimal about overclocking, i thought it had to be done in bios..
can any1 help me with this whole overclocking story?
Am i overclocking correctly
Re: Am i overclocking correctly
Download a program called CPU-Z (http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/C ... 6980.html)
Run it, it will tell you what speed you PC is actually running at (CPU, RAM etc)

Re: Am i overclocking correctly
I have an AM2 3500+ which I can clock to 2.7GHz, but it suffers on stock cooling, only sometimes overheating. It runs stable @ 2.5 though. So technically, it should be able to overclock to 2.5 on your system. Whether that util actually really oc's your chip is another matter entirely.
