Calling all Web Designers & Developers!!!!

Calling for a website designer:

We are currently upgrading our website and are calling innovative web designers to cost the following specifications:

We want our website to be able to do the following

• make a list of all members who join the call via the website
o This list must include
 Name
 Surname
 Title
 Company / Organisation
 Designation (we would like a pop-up examples: educationist, concerned parent, teacher educator, education activist, etc)
 Cell number
 Telephone number
 Fax number
 E-mail
 Postal address if no email
 How they heard about the network with these options:
• TV
• Radio
• Facebook
• Print media
• Email communication
• Other
o Example (Which can be typed in)

• A discussion forum for all who have joined the call. It should be neat, identify the contributor clearly and be in real time.
• Real time updates
• A gallery
• Must be accessible via cell phone

Please can you cost the following separately:
o The ability to have live video feeds and to upload video
o The website should have our audio version of the call playing at all times for people that are blind

The designers that are ultimately chosen to manage the site must outline what maintenance costs of the site will be long term.

While compiling your costs please keep in mind that this initiative is publicly funded by concerned individuals. We would like South Africans to join our call for a better education system in our country, and we would like to make joining the call, a reflection of the efficiency and excellence we wish our education system to be.
This site must be interesting, but above all it must be easy to navigate and meaningful.
Our site will cater to all South African, thus use of symbol rather than any particular language where possible would be a plus.

sorry to say it but them saying that it is a community funded project just puts me off. I would like to get paid if I do a job. It is just bad for business to take such a risk. Considering what they want in the site.

Another note. A site like that will have enormous scope creep. If I had to do it I would quote around R50k to R80k just to cover my own bottom.

Also looks like they have completely unrealistic expectations of the site.

The "if you build it, it will be successful" approach.

No thanks. Next thing you know they will offer you shares in the site in exchange for all your work.

Yeah, it's a potentially massive project to undertake. I was offered this, but it's waaay above my head.

@maxxis: Considering it's a non-profit organisation, I doubt they'd be able to fork out R50k+ on a website. LOL!

Anyways... just thought I'd share this with my PCF peoples. Maybe somebody out here might be interested.
