Core Coolant™ is a synthetic hydrocarbon cooling fluid, developed to cool heat-producing components in Hardcore Computer, Inc.™ systems. Because of its low viscosity and excellent heat transfer characteristics, the use of Core Coolant™ allows Hardcore Computer, Inc.™ systems to operate at much lower temperatures than would be available with other cooling solutions.

Core Coolant™ is made from a blend of ultra-pure, food-grade synthetic base oils, including PAOs, which are made from hydrocarbon gases chemically combined to form a liquid. The PAO oils are blended with other synthetic oils, called VHVI fluids. These are highly refined petroleum products that undergo a process that rearranges the oil's molecular structure, eliminating impurities and resulting in an extremely clean, pure, and non-toxic hydrocarbon fluid.

Core Coolant™ looks and feels like very clean, low viscosity petroleum oil, with no smell. As compared to mineral oils, which are highly complex mixtures of hydrocarbons, Core Coolant™ is chemically uniform and extremely pure. Maintenance and disposal procedures for Core Coolant™ are the same as for mineral oil. It can be reprocessed for continued use in the same way as mineral oil.

WTH is food grade oil. :? Sounds like a load of BS to me. Flamability? Mineral oils are made from crude oil, synthetics are synthesised hyrdocarbon. And how is it non-toxic?

Tranformer oil anyone?

troll much? these are commercially available PC's. I somehow doubt they would go to all the effort of making these machines just so you can call em BS'ers :?

Well 20W40 is already under room temp in the summer but I would like a 0W40 or something for the winters. Also considering that you will be pumping the oil through some kind of cooling mechanism to bring the temp down even further. :P

Hey we are actually discussing what grade of motor oil would work best for cooling a PC.

True, you need to pump it round easily. What about diesel? it makes a good lubricant and it gets in everywear.

Diesel is said to be corrosive. So I won't trust it.

Diesel is not corrosive but like brake fluid, it tends to pick up water. i use diesel to clean engine parts and unseize things

copper strip corrosion? :? i've left things soaking in diesel for months and never obrsrved any corrosion, WSE from the diesel. The sulfur becomes sulphurous acid in combustion and can corrode the combustion chamber but are you going to burn your PC or run it at 100C?

I call BS on that. :|

Oh well I still won't use Diesel. Just think of you potentially getting an electric current into it. The articla also talked regarding the potential for static buildup due to impurities or rather the lack of impurities. Any way there is a reason for Nitrogen :P .
