I have XP with SP3 and am having issues with explorer and all of my media players. I can watch a video, of any type, for a couple of minutes or sometimes it happens immediatly, and then the media player crashes as well as explorer. It is getting quite annoying. I don't want to install Windows because then I'll have to reinstall all the drivers and programs on my PC again and is just too much work.
What did work once though is that I reinstalled Klite Codecs and it fixed the problem but the next time I started the PC again it was buggered again.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks

Re: Windows Explorer crashes when playing a video type
If, as you say, it is problematic with ANY of your players, then the issue, unfortunately is with codecs. I also use klite and have never had a problem. The SP3 bothers me though. I think somewhere klite isn't compatible with SP3.
Solution: Try another codec-pack or at least the latest version of klite. Be sure to uninstall ALL current codecs, and as well, for safe measure, all possible media players and re-install them.
