Project: RRF - Untitled
Re: Project: RRF - Untitled
Makes sense, it's a more practical way of doing things.
Brushed alu does look good, and shouldn't be too heavy either.
Are you planning on CCFL or LED lighting?

Re: Project: RRF - Untitled
well if I use LED I can light the interior from all directions. I also have a contact where I can get some for really cheap I think I might just do that. Have the whole top section lighted from diffirent directions. It would cost me some more wiring but once it is in place there is nothing more to it I guess. The bottom tray will be made from alu was thinking in the line of 1.5mm alu. The top tray however I want to make from plexi to have it see through from all directions. The parts where there will be a res or pump and wiring will be in a mirky coloured plexi so that you can't really see what is going on inside. I only want the mobo and stuff to show. I especially want no visible wiring. I will also need to make up some cables for the short distance the cables will be going however. I will have plugs mounted onto the tray where the power to the mobo, gpu and such will be coming from.

That sounds cool, I like the idea of everything hidden, but lit.

Re: Project: RRF - Untitled
Can't work on it when I am supposed to work. It is also a tad slow going as I am still learning AutoCAD 2008 but I will get there. I am in no hurry.

AutoCAD's rendering engine sux so I will be doing an export to 3DStudio Max or something like that for a better rendering when I am done though. At that point I will add the lighting and textures as well to see what it would really look like.

I have been a tad busy with work the past couple of days. I think I will only be able to get to the top tray at the end of the week.
