Stock might be your biggest problem at the moment.

As far as I know most places are sold out. The R2900 price from Zaps was pre-order iirc.

looks a bit boring tho, cant imagine playing a game for R32xx where the first few days/weeks you will be tapping one stick and occasionally using your foot.

if only you can dive in immediately swinging and kicking like a pro

:/ Tapping one stick?

I got the game on Sunday? Half way through career on medium playing drums. Gets quite complex. Can play easy with one hand (It's BLOODY fast though :P). The guitar is also enjoyable (Played GH3 stukkend, finished everything till about halfway through hard).

I can honestly say, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. The band thing also makes it MUCH more fun.

":/ Tapping one stick?" .... what was i supposed to say "tapping with one hand?"

anyways i rate if you have a full band and can play on expert it should pretty much be the best thing ever since playing in a real band, maybe even better haha

I almost went out and bought it last week but none of the stores that I went to had the Xbox 360 version... so since then I decided I would rather put the money into some new software for my video editing and possibly some extra hardware for my new PC.

You can get a drumset for R3000, you can get a guitar for insainley cheap prices.
Paying R3200 for plastic happy meal toys and one (read it again) game.

I've got Guitar Hero 3 and Guitar Hero DS so I know more or less how the game is and I struggle to see R3200 worth in it.

One can also argue that "it feels like you are actually playing the song" ... well it really isn't that hard to play guitar, there is infinate number of songs to play, tabs are avaiable.

So I'm just trying to figure out what makes the game so great for you all?

Well I have GHWT for PS2, and I must say I am a bit disappointed...

Unfortunately I am just playing with my old GH controller, and don't have the drums or mic (yet), however I have had the chance to play it with drums at an Inedible Erection promotion, and I must say the guitar (with tap board) is awesome, and playing drums is great fun (and pretty easy to pick up provided you have a basic sense of rhythm). However, if you intend to get this game simply to play the guitar side of things, I don't think it is really worth it. This game is made to be played with the full kit and a bunch of friends (preferably whilst extremely inebriated).

Whilst I enjoy the new songs (especially Tool), I have found that it is just a bit too easy. I mean, GHWT on Expert is kinda like GH3 on hard... It is just a bit too easy, I want the difficulty to get, well, more difficult, not easier, as the games progress, however I have just found the game play and difficulty on GHWT to be a bit too simplistic; not enough of a challenge, meaning that seasoned GH players will probably get bored with it after one run through of all the songs.

So my opinion is this: unless you intend to buy the full kit and play with a bunch of friends, I don't think it is worth it. I do not recommend spending the R800 or whatever on the standalone game; sure there are more songs, but after a single play through on your own they just feel boring and tedious. GHWT is made to be played in "Band Mode", so if you are considering buying just the game, I personally don't think it is worth the money.

Guitar Hero is not a guitar or drums or singing simulator - it's a game. Would you advise someone to go and learn karate instead of playing a game like Mortal Kombat? It's a GAME and some people like it, others don't. There is nothing that anyone can say to explain to you why they like any particular game, so why even ask?

Do you play guitar yourself? How long have you been playing for?

Would you say you could play as well as Ingwie Malmsteen, or Steve Vai? Because, unless you can, I'm sorry to have to tell you that saying "it really isn't hard to play guitar" makes you sound like a complete idiot.
