.exe files have disappeared.

At a LAN here with a friend, and all of a sudden all of his *.exe files have disappeared.

It seems to only affect his 'D:\Games\' folder. All the other exe files in every other folder is still there. Only the ones in there have miraculously disappeared.

Not sure if it's a virus, as Windows has been left alone. Everything on his C:\ drive has been left alone.

There are a variety of flash games (in .exe's) on D: drive, but they've been left alone. Only his Games folder has been affected. (repeating this, to make sure the message is sunk in )

Can anyone please elaborate on WTF is going on here?

Emphasis: Only D:\Games is affected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar thing happen to me once, years ago. It was indeed a virus.

Be a good friend and give him your exe files whilst he does a scan.

I don't trust Avast! as much as NOD32, so the one other friend is doing that

Nod32 FTW! Shame, that's a **** one though...kinda hard to play (was it Games, you said?) Without .exes

Yup. Games only. It it all happened at once. Any recently copied exe's are still there.

I should add that he's running Vista x64, but also no Anti-virus (long story I'm not going to explain here)

Umm I can't really offer any advice on this man, other than scanning thoroughly and googling a bit...
