Security Experts Advising You Stay Off IE

Post by DeathStrike »

Interesting that when the BBC dares to carry a negative story about Microsoft, it immediately becomes the most-read and most-emailed - perhaps they should do it more often:

Users of the world's most common web browser have been advised to switch to another browser until a serious security flaw has been fixed.

Good advice, by why only until fixed: surely, the logical thing to do would be to abandon IE altogether, thus avoiding future problems too?

LMAO. time for firefox anyone?

rustypup, opera is a cool browser.
but what widgets are there to replace the really top popular add-ons found in ff?
if it wasnt for the add-ons, ff wouldn't be as popular as it is.

Nooooo not another thread on which browswer is better - what add-ons are cool. There are tons of these threads. Doesn't matter how many times we go through this - Rusty will NEVER admit FF is better than Opra! No point beating a dead fire!

Opera has it's own popup blocker which you don't need to dl afterwards. And I have never seen a popup go unblocked. :D

You don't need BBC to tell you that IE sucks. I could have told you that.

been in opera for quite some time now... right click->block content

you will need to specify which add-ons... opera has many tools default installed which FF relies on the community to maintain... which leads to all manner of stability/security issues...

Oh well with a little bit of setup you can block that too with what opera has on hand. Also wait for Opera 10.0 to come out. It is sooo sweeeet.

Alternatively you could use any of these to block any unwanted content.
