Planned forum downtime
Hi all,
Just to let you know that I'll be patching the forum to phpBB 3.0.3 this evening at 21:00. The forum will be unavailable during this time; downtime is expected to be no more than an hour (although this is an estimate, I've never patched a forum of this size before so I'm not too sure how long it will take).
Thanks.

*gasp* No ... not at that time of night. Can't you do it tomorrow morning at 10 am instead?

Thanks Ron. What are the changes phpBB 3.0.3 will bring?

OK guys, we're doing this again; phpBB 3.0.4 is out.
Will be doing it Monday evening at 22:00. As before, expect downtime of around an hour or so.

Re: Planned forum downtime
Do we actually have a need for a patch. Except for Jee's problem with the admin side of things?

Re: Planned forum downtime
Considering that two of the fixes are security related, yes we do.

Re: Planned forum downtime
DeathStrike, I have no problem with an update if it is needed. If it has security fixes then yes I fully agree that it is needed. As a rule you stay one patch or version behind the developers as the latest release always has issues. Any patch for security is however a diffirent story. I don't think that there is a lot that can be broken by the patch in any case.DeathStrike wrote:come on guys. a little down time didn't hurt anybody. its not like the pcf site is going away forever. *touches the wooden table*

Re: Planned forum downtime
I've just received word that our web hosts need to bounce the server to reset something - the site will be unavailable for around 5 minutes or so.

Re: Planned forum downtime
I've received a message from the web hosts stating that the server may go down for 5-10 mins later today for security maintenance - no idea as to exactly when this may happen though.
