Call of Duty - World at War

Post by IcePick88 »

I know there is a thread about the multi-player beta, but this is aimed at the single player experience.

Any of you guys getting it? (Kinda sounds like a stupid question)
And what are your views on the developers Treyarch? Will they fail again or will they prevail, seeing that they are using an enhanced version of the COD4 engine and not old tech.

Personally, I cannot wait for it to come! Already pre-ordered mine, and waiting anxiously!!!!
I also cannot wait to get my hands on the Thompson again to wreak some havoc!

apparently the single player will be just as short as cod4, but his time you have co-op mode for up to 3 players..sounds fun, and you have a sniping level again and a level where your supposed to help out allies by killing as much planes as possible from what looks like a gunship--*cough*MoH-- but it will have kiefer sutherland as the narrator off the marines-pretty cool-, and some other guy i cant remember that will voice the russians....all in all, it sounds like it will be and amazing game! the gfx are gonna be better, the gameplay kinda the same, just more action and experience-seeing as you will have levels with vehicles and tanks...sounds awesome!!!!from what ive read they say that the player-immersion into the game is rocking...but i cant wait, getting mine on friday, they better have stock!

if anything, if it does so happen to pull it off better than cod4, this will be a game that i'll be playing for a long time.

Gary Oldman is the the other one.
A special online co-op mode called "Nacht Der Untoten (Night of the Undead)" is unlocked once the player completes the single player campaign. In it, up to four players must attempt to defend themselves from limitless waves of undead Nazi soldiers. With each kill and successful hit, players earn points that can be used to purchase new weapons and fortifications to further defend themselves.
I wish this does not realize. It kinda take the realism out of the game.

Edit: The prologue was awesome in COD4. That's how a bonus mission must look like!

I honestly dont see how it can beat cod4. It might be great multiplayer but the weapons will be *****.

Collectors Edition (which I have pre-ordered) only arrives on the 19th of this month not the 14th like the standard edition :(.

I'll post the screenshots in a while.
The first level is cod4 but it feels like it's missing something.
Also the inbetween mission cutscenes are awesome.

The game doesn't have that indicator when a shot hit an enemy , very dissapointing since you never know if you actually got a hit, since they are in heavy camo.

Also quite brutal.

Edit: Dammit, I wanted to try multiplayer but there is a 380mb patch :(

I'm not going to make them smaller because they deserve to be at a higher resolution

awesome!

i guess its more on the realistic side when you dont know if you hit the enemy or not. i mean no shot indicator in real life besides seeing it with your eyes.

Yeah, but sometimes reality isn't what you want in a game at 100%.

Also the melee attack animation is retarded .

From the screen shots it looks okay, not really that great. But then again, COD is about sheer action and adrenalin.

Well I think cod4 is close to perfect, I need to play more cod5 to say if it is better but its hard to compare because there almost identical just a differant scene.

If anyone wants to co-op single player with me I'm more then willing :)
