I think the answer stares us right in the face.
I might have have missed the plot somewhere...have you figured out wtf was causing the gfx crd to overheat with the ATI tool?

Re: cm 690 mod (GT)
not overheating its running under 60 degrees. i changed my fans around (i found a spot near the north bridge where the heat was traped) and now the heats moving out properly. you can feel the warm getting blown out the caseLithe_Joint wrote:I think the answer stares us right in the face.

Re: cm 690 mod (GT)
update time
so heres some things i got in durbz
first up the group photo
i got a few of these to make some extension cables since i always break the cables on headphones (relly has nothing to do with the mod but anyways)
20X blue 5mm leds (any guesses what these are for)
20X 1k resistors (i didnt feel like working out the exact value in the shop so i just opted for 1 k the leds are still very bright)
now for the asus part
when i was in durban i decided to do a bios update but was a little worried since they said the new bios sorted out problems with acc (used to unlock 4th core) now if you guys remember correctly amd told all manufactures to fix the unlocking "problem". anywyas i updated the bios and this is what i saw on my first boot
now when you disable acc the cpu returns to a x3. this is what it says
anyways after the update i got about 500 more 3dmark vantage points not sure where the screen shot is but ill have a look
and here is my overclocking that i did after the update
i really dont know why it gave me 0 here
BTW gpu z for some reason doesnt show the new clocks so i had to just use the overclocking utility that ati provide..
by the looks of things i might have a small parcel coming from the uk for my mod.... im really excited about it
forgot to say comments are welcome... like always (damn going to make a shortcut key for that sentence)

Re: cm 690 mod (GT)
haha dude how can you forget about that??? i really want to get some heatsinks made for my gpu. i pushed the memory up by 15mhz i think and i had a 150point increase . now if i could cool the memory down a lil more then i should get higher
howcome no one has taken a guess at what the leds are for?

Re: cm 690 mod (GT)
hi guys small update just to show you what in store for later updates
to start off i did a bit of work on the leds a few days ago
first step the led
second step led and resister
third step twist the two wires together
then to double check ive put the resistor on the right side
all the leds
and this is more or less what it should look like. will be much more leds though
cant wait for new supplies
