here is my design i did before an exam
and here is what i am hoping the flames to look like
here is the list of what i would like to to so far

Re: cm 690 mod (blue ice/690GT)
so you say i should just stick with the plain GT stripe
i guess that could work since it wil have a mirror finish black
hmmmmmmmmm..........

Something that works pretty nice, but not sure how it would be on a case is an off center stripe like this:

Re: cm 690 mod (blue ice/690GT)
i like how you think man
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.................
*brain explodes
too much thinking lol
ill have a look at both
when i mask the case up for spraying ill try off center first then if it dont look good ill do it in the center
EdIT: i dont have a scanner here atm so ill do the designs on the paper i printed and post them tomorrow
thinking of black with ice blue GT stripes with i white or lighter blue outline/pinstripe on either side

Re: cm 690 mod (blue ice/690GT)
got my case last of last week just forgot to post it
here some pics with my stuff installed
i felt like seeing what the GT stripes would look like so i masked the tape up for a preview
here the pics of that
thinking of maybe, possible cutting out a radioactive sign for the side panel.and then i will move the fans to the bottom
and whats really cool is i am writing my last exam tomorrow then i only have one more day of school this term so i can start the modding (and looking for the cash to )
thinking of making the mod name GT instead of 690GT

a bit bland? unless you gonna do something special to it afterwards?

Re: cm 690 mod (blue ice/690GT)
there will be some flashy m3(i think) bolts holding the plexi on
and i might get GT engraved into it with some leds on the inside to lite it up
sounding better
sorry i forgot to post all of that
masked it on my side panel to get an idea
sorry about the image quality web cams and a shaky hand don't mix well

Re: cm 690 mod (blue ice/690GT)
the shape is still a bit "meh". add some curves maybe? something subtle, like round the corners, and maybe give the straight edges a slight curve, just to make it a bit interesting...
just mocked this up:

Re: cm 690 mod (blue ice/690GT)
Cool. But don't take anyone's opinion as gospel.
This is your project, and you PC, you need to make it your own. You have chosen to take inspiration from cars. Great, but don't just take the obvious for inspiration (GT stripes), look at what is sexy on a car (the rear "rump" for example, or headlights) and see what design features (shapes/colours/dynamics) you can integrate into your box.
Now go forth and mod!

Re: cm 690 mod (GT)
here is the update
*begs Eskom not to kill power
first i masked up the panel
then i drew the design
and added some white masking tape to make it more clear
started the dremel up
bottom halve of the panel cut
close up
both halves cut. looking where to place the nuts
time for the putty
the two compounds that come in the box
all done
than i started sanding that night and since it was a long night i needed this
there are the two plexi parts for the panel
the panel on the case
and one of the best parts
my new cm extreme 650w psu
and now I've run into a problem
after sanding the putty to the same thickness of the panel the edges of it chipped off
i thought of maybe cutting out the holes and welding a new piece in there place
would this work?
and does anyone have a better idea?
