Hi everyone
I just got a hosting package from Webafrica http://www.webafrica.co.za/webhosting/linux/personal/ (its the linux essentials).
I am looking for someone to help me out with making it. I really want to build it myself if i can but dont know much about creating sites. Did alot of microsoft front page a few years ago though at school. Just creating this site for free for my horse riding stable. All it needs really is:
-latest news page
-photo gallery with the ability to comment on them like facebook.
-ability for people to add to the gallery (not delete)
-contacts page with important numbers etc
-and not forgetting a shiny home page with links to these and a picture of the stable
Any free web design tools and help would be much appreciated

Re: Creating a new Website
Install Joomla and Coppermine, you should have the CPanel software, go to Fantastico and you'll see those applications there.

Download MS Visual Studio 2008 Express - it is free and really good.
For what you want to do it is more than capable.
If you don't want to download the whole suite then just download the VS Web Developer 2008 Express Edition which is a much smaller download.
You will need to download the latest .NET framework as well (version 3.5 i think)

joomla and its extensions will do everything you need.
and its really easy to setup with lots of tutorials. all you really gonna need to do is code up a template (if you dont want to download a free one), browse the many joomla extensions you will need, such as a lytebox gallery maybe and bam you good to go.
