Magazine Covers

Post by Hman »

I thought I'd upload the covers of publications that I did since working at my new job, where I am the Graphic Designer.

MotoTrader 6 (Personally I feel it's butt ugly, but that was my boss' design)
Image

MotoTrader 7 (Still ugly, did what the boss wanted at least I could change the logo)
Image

MotoTrader 8 (This looks better!)
Image

MotoTrader 9 (Made a nice new logo, and persuaded the boss to let me use it)
Image

MotoTrader 10 (Boss's wife didn't like the gloss effect on the logo  And ugly supplied VW ad on the cover :puke: )
Image

MotoTrader 11

MotorTrader 12 (Name changed slightly, best cover so far.) <- Current Issue

Thrifty's (Self Publication)

Epson Motors 1 (Self Publication)

Thanks

Yeah, personally I don't like having busy covers, but what my boss wants my boss gets.

Nice work! My favourites are the Epson covers.

What program are you using?

I also had a problem with my boss changing my designs, actually had to have a little sit down with him because it became so disruptive, but I think you'll find over time they'll begin to trust you more and won't interfere quite as much. As for customers, well one of you is a designer, the other isn't, whose opinion should they trust?

TY, I also feel the same about the Epson covers, though the 2nd one is starting to get a bit busy with all the addresses. CorelDraw X4 mainly, though if I have to create or edit a bitmap I use PS CS3.
