DFI ICFX3200 T2R/G - BIOS recovery problem
All I get when I turn on my PC is the following
"BIOS ROM checksum error
Detecting floppy drive A media..."
This is all it shows and I do see activity on the floppy disk drive.
1st Question: What needs to be put on the floppy drive?
2nd Question: I tried using the bios flash image floppy, nothing.
Please help

It sounds like you may have a virus. Boot from your AV disk.
Can you get into your bios? If so - disable the boot from floppy option.

Re: DFI ICFX3200 T2R/G - BIOS recovery problem
I know a number of computers default to looking for a bios file on the floppy drive if the bios gets corrupted...
| Intel C2D E7300 | Asus Striker Extreme | CL X-Fi ME | Asus 8800GTS | Aopen 700W |
| 2*Seagate 1TB Raid | Samsung 2232GW 22" LCD | Team Extreem 2GB DDR2 800 |

Disable to floppy drive in the bios and see what happens.

thanks tribz, no i cant get into my bios and i cant boot from any disc. ive had feedack from another forum as well, seems i should have reset my bios to defaults before flashing to a newer version.Tribble wrote:It sounds like you may have a virus. Boot from your AV disk.

so i may have to replace my bios chip, which is thankfully removable but now where to find one is another issue.

Cos Gigabyte didn't have a P45 board when I bought (don't think they have one now even).Firestrm wrote:if ur so enamoured with gigabyte wachoo doin with an asus rig?Stuart wrote:The backup chip is probably from Gigabyte.

Which one is it? I saw a whole range of P45s on their site even before the P5Q hit our shores, but I wasn't aware anything had been released yet.WiK1d wrote:Yes they do, they've had one for ages?Stuart wrote:Cos Gigabyte didn't have a P45 board when I bought (don't think they have one now even).
