DFI ICFX3200 T2R/G - BIOS recovery problem

Post by Firestrm_ZA »

All I get when I turn on my PC is the following

"BIOS ROM checksum error

Detecting floppy drive A media..."

This is all it shows and I do see activity on the floppy disk drive.

1st Question: What needs to be put on the floppy drive?
2nd Question: I tried using the bios flash image floppy, nothing.

Please help :o

It sounds like you may have a virus. Boot from your AV disk.

Can you get into your bios? If so - disable the boot from floppy option.

I know a number of computers default to looking for a bios file on the floppy drive if the bios gets corrupted...

thanks tribz, no i cant get into my bios and i cant boot from any disc. ive had feedack from another forum as well, seems i should have reset my bios to defaults before flashing to a newer version. :(

so i may have to replace my bios chip, which is thankfully removable :) but now where to find one is another issue.

Which one is it? I saw a whole range of P45s on their site even before the P5Q hit our shores, but I wasn't aware anything had been released yet.
