yes. its called dual booting.

Install win98 1st. and then XP as a New Install not as upgrade.

Make sure you partition your Hard Drive as it will make things easier to manage. even better if you have to separate HD.

no.
Same hard drive. Split it into 2 partitions (get a mate who knows his stuff to give you a hand if you need one) and then install each operating system on a partition.

eg- Partition 1 has Windows 98, partition 2 has XP.

XP will create a start-up boot menu with the options for both. Then you just use the arrow keys to chose which OS you want. Simple.

If you have 2 hard drives, one for each operating system, then just install 98 on one HDD first followed by XP on the other. This will do the same as above but doesn't need special adjustment of partitions on the hard drive.

Some people have programs that can only run with 98, 95, etc (and issues have with XP).

98 is for educational games for the kids. Don't run on XP even when you say run in Win 98 mode

yes You can Install Windows 98 then create a partition and install XP in the other section of the drive... but the only problem, is that its best to keep bothe partitians FAT32, but the best of the best solution is have two drives, keep one FAT 32, and install windows 98 (including 95 if you want in a separate partition on that) and then the other NTFS where you install the XP. BUt your windows 98 wont recognise your XP drve... but your windows XP will recognise bothe... But its niceer to have 2 drives if the one should fail yuour PC still boots into windows regardless what version it is..until find another drive...

But I have a question, some bios's offer boot suooprt of USB flash drives... could one boot off windows 98 off the flash drive?

Another option would be to use to run win98 in a virtual machine. This way you wouldn't need to restart your pc each time.

Very true. In today's times where petrol is R10+ a litre, it's very hard to just go out and just spend. Duly noted mate.

Exactly,... even worse if you unemployed, i can remember i have not been to the beach for a year to have a wave and catch the sun, because of the price of petrol. Nevermind buying new programs, use what you got , improvize :-)

If you got money spare, fair enouph... remember we also need money to afford PCF magazine at least once in every 2 or months...
