You're gonna need about R3k to revive that PC. Since you want to tune it, are you open to the suggestion of overclocking?

Just don't get those programmes that say they can 'make your PC faster'. They won't.Philiphuman wrote:Please ask more and i can tell you what is what on my pc.
Also a celeron is not the best place to start off for performance even if overclocked to much higher speeds.
Spend some cash and get an upgrade as the oaks have said.
Soon Google will know everything...including how to divide by zero ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

I think most S775 will run Celeron-D's. You can step up to mobo, then gfx, then CPU. The CPU will cost less (R600) then the mobo (R1000) and gfx (R2000) and you can clock it to hell if you upgrade the RAM (R500).
Celeron-D's are very outdated, not much new games will run on them. You might be able to get a good overclock on it with a new mobo with value kit 667 RAM and buy a discrete card and then GPU then CPU. You will slowly be able to upgrade.
Reinstalling windows might be a good idea. In fact, running Win2000 might even be a better idea, you won't be able to play all the games but it uses much less resources so you'll get a slight performance boost.
