Tri-Nations 2008
What are your thoughts on this year's Tri-Nations?

Butch James played useless!!!! If your fly half fatigues your team is always gona struggle. The one penalty he kicked from our try line and kicked it out on the 22, WTF ? DE Villers, Habana and Bismark played pretty well but i rate it is our coach who sucks.
They showed him when we scored a try and when they scored, he had no emotion. The assistant coaches on the other hand where jumping up and down, they are running the show and if they loose they get fired!! BAM!!!
Sucks that we have to play 2 games in New Zealand, is the tournament longer this year ??

I think De Villiers was the best player on the field. New Zealand absolutely dominated the scrums today.
If South Africa really want to win this Tri Nations they are gonna have to work on their handling.
I am not a big fan of Francois Steyn, but I think he did alot better then Butch James today.

I had to listen to it on the radio... We kicked the ball too much, I still havn't seen the game but Jacobs did kick a lot.
There is a big difference between us and the all blacks, when they use their forwards to maul/move forward players run onto the ball when passed out the ruck, we stand when we get the ball, we are too flat we need to run onto the ball.

YA when they call the dummy run, when he isn't involve in tackling and when he is warming the bench. The dude can;t even make the Sharks starting 15 then they put him in the national team. OK?Fish_man wrote:i like the way he plays!!!DarkRanger wrote:We must've been watching different games...Fish_man wrote:AD jacobs did pritty well, for a small center

The back line moves where very static near the end of the game. We weren't going anywherei_r_baboon wrote:I had to listen to it on the radio... We kicked the ball too much, I still havn't seen the game but Jacobs did kick a lot.

All the team selection errors are the coaches fault

AD Jacobs is far too small for a middie in any international team. Januarie is not an international scrumhalf, how I wish that Fourie du Preez and Jaap Fourie were available, but alas they are not!
We played well and with some flair during the first half, battled in the scrums and line outs, strange, but then again our game is seldom up to standard in the wet.
The second half was a disaster, the wheels fell off. We were never going to win this one. There is next week though, South Africa, because of distance will always pull the short straw in the Tri-Nations, however we know that. NZ and Aus just fly across the creek and play, two hour time difference.
I must say that Aus did not impress against a weak and disorganized French team, we should handle them well.

I do agree with you on this one regarding the Stormers and Super 14. I am just worried that the step up International rugby is just a little far. Do not misunderstand, I do not think that he had anything to do with the loss. Sometimes his game seems a little mindless.i_r_baboon wrote:I must say that Januarie has impressed me. Did you happen to watch the Stormers games Lancelot? I would clearly say Januarie was our best scrum half this year in the Super14 and therefore deserves to play for the Springboks.

Yes you make a very good point, Januarie does tend to get a little mixed up on the field sometimes. I also would agree that Fourie Du Preez is probably our best international scrum half but Januarie's performance this Super14 was incredible and if the couch gets the combinations right he can really use Januarie to do a lot of damage.lancelot wrote:I do agree with you on this one regarding the Stormers and Super 14. Januarie is also good with momentum play. For the most part of this year the Stormers were running onto the ball and Januarie was giving fast ball out of the rucks.

Agree 100%. What I don't understand is that Jake White won us the world cup while so many others failed, and he got the boot. WHY??muffinman wrote:Three mistakes made SA lose to the all black this weekend.

Jake did his own thing, he wouldn't let SARU dictate him and rightfully so.DarkRanger wrote:What I don't understand is that Jake White won us the world cup while so many others failed, and he got the boot. WHY??
They now have a man of colour as the couch and he probably bends over for them which is what they want.
Also not to forget transformation
