Networking with Suse

Post by Prime »

Hi all.

How do you network to a windows PC in Suse. I can't seem to find where to set my ip address. and then where do i go to look at a shared windows drive.

Also, how do i link several network cards in one computer, the equivalent of bridging them in XP.

I'm not quite sure what you mean - but if you mean creating network shares on a Linux machine that can be accessed from Windows, most (if not all) Linux distributions come with a daemon called Samba that does exactly that.

I would guess that changing your IP address would be via YaST - not 100% sure, haven't used SuSE for a while.

As for bridging network cards, this article may or may not help you.
