Yeah I got to play last night finally and after an hour of solo play I was at 3.8million XP
Gonna be interesting, I may not play Guild Wars 2 if this new system holds my attention for longer than a week.

I finished hell on Sunday. Started on inferno... the 1st yellow mob hit my 33.9k hp behind to about 3k in 2 hits... I thought to myself... to hell with this. I was waltzing through Hell act 4 like it was nothing, but this is just crazy.

Now that Guild Wars 2 is out, i dont think i'll be playing diablo anytime soon again.

 noob
I think I have posted about 4 times in this thread already that one does not simply walk into Mordor

To play in Inferno you need ALL NEW GEAR
High Armour, high resist-all

Currently my Monk does -70% physical damage from armour and -70% everything else from resists
Even with this and 20K DPS and 40K HP I'm barely able to solo Act2 Inferno

Thats the beauty of Inferno, it's a whole new game.

Your rush to GW2 has convinced me that it is going to be populated completely by nimrods.
Do not want.

TL2 is getting a release date on 31 August. Is this the year of blizzards downfall? Probably not. Even if you deliver 5 years of fail in the making you still sit with something that milked everyones wallets worse than soviet russia during the cold war.

Patch 1.04 did change Diablo 3 a bit but overall its the same game. I can imagine that 100 paragon levels later you will be one powerful mofo.

Console version of Diablo III "up and running" inside Blizzard
But company still refuses to confirm console release plans.

by Kyle Orland - Dec 11 2012, 7:58pm -200

We've been talking about the possibility of Blizzard's Diablo III coming to living room game consoles for over four-and-a-half years now. In that time we've gotten classified ad hints, cryptic developer statements, and even tweeted all-but-confirmations that a console version of the game is indeed coming, all without an official announcement from Blizzard itself.

Now, Blizzard Chief Creative Officer Rob Pardo has added more fuel to the fire, telling Polygon that a console build of the game is currently "up and running" in Blizzard's offices, and "looking pretty cool" to boot. While Pardo said the team is "hoping to get it far enough along where we can make it an official project," the company is still not at the point where a console port can be officially confirmed. Diablo III lead designer Jay Wilson added that the company is "exploring console options," in case that was still unclear.

A console version of Diablo III wouldn't be totally unprecedented—the original Diablo received a PlayStation port in 1998, complete with a local co-op mode. More recently, the Xbox Live Arcade port of Torchlight proved that the basic Diablo formula can work just fine on a living room TV with a handheld controller. While Runic hasn't ruled out a similar console port for Torchlight 2, Runic Games CEO Max Schaefer told IGN in September that such a move would require extra development time and downsampling of the game's art assets.

Blizzard has continued to update the existing PC and Mac versions of Diablo III, most notably by extending the level cap and adding a challenging "Infernal Machine" boss mode for late game players. During an investor call last month, Activision Blizzard president Mike Morhaime confirmed an expansion pack for the game is in the works but refused to comment on the timing of its release.

We Can Finally Solve Real-Life Beefs In Diablo III

By Craig Pearson on January 14th, 2013 at 6:00 pm.

You! Yeah, you! I am enraged in you general direction. Are you manly enough to fight me? Yeah? Crap. I thought you might back down and run away. Erm. Can I interest you – OW! – please stop, and I’ll pay you – NOTTHEFACE – I have money! Take my watch! It’s my birthday and I’ve just wet myself. Just please stop pummeling me… Man, did I just learn a lesson: real-world violence solves nothing, causes bruising and pain, and might even result in soiled underwear. From now on I’ll be doing all my fighting online, and Blizzard will soon make it possible to do so in Diablo III. The next patch will deliver a basic PvP structure to their game. Finally!

The missing PvP component has been one of the more obvious missteps from a game that never quite got its footing. If you’re going to demand that players need to be connected to the internet, at least give them a good few reasons to be online. At least Blizzard are still plugging away, and they’ve just announced that patch 1.0.7 will bring player duels to the game.

It’s not a huge update, but I expect those still clicking will appreciate it. The new location, the Scorched Chapel, is segmented into four new zones: the church, the graveyard, the river, and the lake. Up to four players can fight. PvP being built in a safe zone. It’s opt-in to prevent player vs player combat spiraling out into griefing. To this end, there’s literally no point to the violence. No leaderboards, no betting, no objectives. It’s possibly a meta-comment on the nature of violence, but the exact opposite of why most people play games. Maybe it’s just too tough to balance between the player’s builds, so they decided to take out any rewards?
With this comic summing up how I feel about this...

Well as they say Diablo 3 was more of a wasted potential than a bad game. That torchlight 2 icon gets clicked more than Diablo 3.

I read the first page and then stopped as I knew where it was going. Talked to my brother last night and his oppinion is that there are too many trolls going overboard. I am sure the guy received death threats for how diablo 3 was. As I said I liked the first play thru and everything up to the skeleton king was enjoyable and a diablo experience. But anything after that was not as enjoyable and I did not buy the game to play the auction house.

I never played the games before but I really enjoyed this. But agree - only played once through and stopped halfway through the second time. Life is too short.

I played it until i got to the final difficulty. I barely went out of the town in act 1, then i stopped. Mobs were too strong and the lack of any good drops broke the game for me. As i said before, its not fun being level 60 and only getting level 50-55 drops.
And lets not get started on legendary/set items. I only got 3 legendary (crap) items and 0 set items.

Well if Diablo 2 had an auction house it would have worked. But only because you were never really item bound and the items you needed to progress was widely available. Getting what you wanted however was something else :P

D3 and TL2 will always be compared neck to neck and after playing it last night again its clear the one showers you with items while your able to complete stuff with a much lower grade item.

Well be sure to tell your console-owning friends how terrible it is, or you're going to have to hear it back from them for the next 2 years.
Well that's just super.

Well it seems that battle.net and PSN doesn't talk to each other so D3 for consoles won't need a internet connection to play. Suddenly that statement of "Consoles is the lifeblood of this company" is starting to come into effect.
